Although I believe that universal healthcare for the entirety of the American population is rather unrealistic, I recently thought of healthcare for minors, in other words, any children under 18.  Once they reach 18, they'd be on their own, but until then, they'd have healthcare coverage provided.  I simply think these because I don't think children should have to not have access to the best healthcare just because their parents aren't well off.  Adults need to take responsibility for themselves, but children have no say in and no control over the situation into which they are born.

Yes, minors should have access to health care. There are a few issues that come up such as payments and who would be funding this. The health care could work by the parents funding the child's plan. Although, this would be difficult for some parents who can't afford to get their children desperate health care. Now, most children are covered by their parents health care plan. If minors were to get their own plan, this could give them more coverage and possibly an ability to go to more doctors.

Healthcare should be a basic need that government needs to ensure gets covered for everyone.  Kids especially should stay under their parents coverage until a later age.  Giving them separate healthcare maybe problematic as far as payments, claims, legal responsibility goes.
